Legendary Butoh dancer Taketeru Kudo with Tetsu Saitoh | Tonight
One of Japan's most acclaimed Butoh dancers, Taketeru Kudo performs at SuperDeluxe@Artspace tonight. Butoh is a contemporary Japanese post war dance style, known for its hyper controlled body movements and grotesque yet beautiful imagery.
Tetsu Saitoh, innovative double-bass player, will be providing the score for this unforgettable performance. Tetsu Saitoh is a brilliant musician unhampered by convention whose hauntingly beautiful abstract improvisations combine a variety of modern musical styles with traditional Asian music to create something completely unique and ephemeral.
Also performing tonight is Rosie Dennis, a Sydney-based performer, writer, teacher and curator, whose work interweaves third party conversations, everyday interactions between lovers and observed habitual relationship patterns, Love Song Dedication is a fragile and raw exploration of the ordinariness of love.
Remember no booking? no worries. SuperDeluxe@Artspace is free and fun, and we want everyone to enjoy it before the doors shut on August 1.
SuperDeluxe@Artspace is a licensed 18 y.o + venue for all evening events. ID is required for entry.
